The bill includes measures such as the removal of the so-called 1.06 million yen income barrier requirement, making it easier for part-time workers to join the Employees Pension Insurance. The supplementary provisions of the bill also specify measures to raise the basic pension.

The related bill will be voted on at the House of Councillors plenary session on the 13th and is expected to be passed and enacted.

Additionally, prompted by the issue of politics and money, the officials responsible for political reform from each party held discussions yesterday regarding the handling of corporate and organizational donations, a topic that has been debated between the ruling and opposition parties.

However, since the gap in opinions could not be bridged regarding whether to ban it or strengthen regulations, it is expected that the ruling and opposition parties will continue discussions even after the House of Councillors election.

On the other hand, within the Liberal Democratic Party, regarding the agreement between the LDP and Komeito party secretaries-general to implement benefits such as cash payments as a measure against rising prices, there are voices saying that, since cash payments were postponed this April, a clear reason is necessary for carrying out such payments.

Within the party, while there are persistent opinions calling for the implementation of measures to demonstrate a stance of reducing the public burden, there are also suggestions that a cautious response is necessary in light of the fiscal situation, so the executives are scheduled to discuss how to respond on the 13th.
