After the official announcement of the House of Councillors election, this is the first weekend, and each party is working to expand its support by having party leaders and executives appeal their policies in key constituencies they consider important for achieving their target number of seats.

Together with Komeito, which forms a coalition with the Liberal Democratic Party, the ruling parties aim to maintain a majority of seats in the House of Councillors, and are therefore seeking to secure at least 50 seats, which is necessary to achieve this.

Party executives will focus their support on single-member districts, and plan to advocate for measures against rising prices, such as reducing the consumption tax rate on food to zero percent for one year in principle, and providing 20,000 yen per person until the tax reduction is implemented.

We aim to win at least 6 seats for the Japan Innovation Party.

Executives will provide support mainly in the Kansai region, which is their stronghold, as well as in urban electoral districts where candidates have been fielded. They plan to campaign on policies focused on reducing burdens for the working generation, such as lowering social insurance premiums.

We have set a goal of winning at least 16 seats for the Democratic Party for the People.

They are putting forward policies to increase peoples take-home pay and are calling for measures such as uniformly lowering the consumption tax rate to 5% until real wages continue to rise, hoping to increase their support.

We want the Communist Party to win at least 8 seats.

Aiming for the abolition of the consumption tax, they are urgently calling for a uniform reduction of the tax rate to 5% and an increase in the minimum wage, with the intention of garnering support for the proportional representation and aiming to secure 6.5 million votes.

We are aiming to secure 7 seats for Reiwa Shinsengumi.

In addition to proportional representation, they are aiming for victory in urban electoral districts such as the metropolitan area, calling for the immediate abolition of the consumption tax and a cash payment of 100,000 yen per person, in an effort to broaden their support.

We aim to secure 10 seats, including those of the Sanseito members who are not up for election.

In addition to calling for the gradual abolition of the consumption tax and a review of social insurance premiums, they are also advocating for a reassessment of foreigner policies, aiming to gain support not only in electoral districts but also through proportional representation.

We aim for all the candidates fielded by the Japan Conservative Party to be elected.

Executives will enter electoral districts, mainly in urban areas, and the policy is to call for making the consumption tax rate on food products, including alcoholic beverages, permanently zero percent.

They are aiming to secure at least 2% of the proportional representation vote and win at least three seats in order to maintain the Social Democratic Partys status as a political party.
