He did not disclose the details, but in an interview aired on FOX News on the 29th, President Trump indicated that since there are few automobile exports from the United States to Japan, he could notify Japan in writing that tariffs on automobiles would be set at 25%.

President Trump is believed to be aiming to put pressure on the Japanese side to take further measures to reduce the trade deficit.
