According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, a tropical depression in the East China Sea is moving eastward, causing warm and humid air to flow in from the south. As a result, rain clouds are developing locally in areas such as southern Kyushu and the Amami region of Kagoshima Prefecture.

After the 14th, an influx of moist air will intensify, bringing the risk of heavy rain in western Japan through the 14th and on the Pacific side of eastern Japan on the 15th.
