At one of the worlds largest animation film festivals held in France, Japanese director Yasuhiro Aokis work ChaO won the Jury Prize, the second highest award in the feature film category.
フランス南東部で毎年開かれる「アヌシー国際アニメーション映画祭」では、世界各地から出品されるアニメ作品が長編部門や短編部門などで最高賞の「クリスタル賞」を競います
At the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, held annually in southeastern France, animated works from around the world compete for the top prize, the Crystal Award, in categories such as feature films and short films.
最終日の14日は各部門の授賞式が行われ、このうち長編部門では、青木康浩監督の「ChaO」が最高賞に次ぐ審査員賞に選ばれました
On the final day, the 14th, award ceremonies for each category were held, and in the feature film category, ChaO directed by Yasuhiro Aoki was selected for the Jury Prize, which is second only to the top award.
また、特別賞にあたるポール・グリモー賞には、東京出身でフランスなどを拠点に活動する瀬戸桃子監督の「Dandelion’sOdyssey」が選ばれました
Additionally, the Paul Grimault Award, which is a special prize, was given to Dandelion’s Odyssey directed by Momoko Seto, who is from Tokyo and is active mainly in France and other countries.
日本の作品では、2017年に長編部門で湯浅政明監督の「夜明け告げるルーのうた」が最高賞のクリスタル賞を受賞したほか、片渕須直監督の「この世界の片隅に」が審査員賞を受賞しています
In Japanese works, in 2017, Masaaki Yuasa’s Lu Over the Wall won the top prize, the Cristal Award, in the feature film category, and Sunao Katabuchi’s In This Corner of the World received the Jury Award.
ことしの長編部門のクリスタル賞には、フランスの作品「Arco」が選ばれました

「ChaO」とは
「ChaO」はアニメーターの青木康浩さんが監督を務めた長編アニメーション作品です
ChaO is a feature-length animated film directed by animator Yasuhiro Aoki.
人間と人魚が共存する未来の社会を舞台に、主人公のサラリーマンが人魚の王国のお姫様「チャオ」と結婚することになり、困難に直面しながらも関係を深めていく恋愛模様を描いています
Set in a future society where humans and mermaids coexist, the story depicts the romantic relationship between a salaryman protagonist and Chao, the princess of the mermaid kingdom, as they face various challenges and deepen their bond after getting engaged.
青木監督は1980年代からアニメーターとして数多くの作品に参加し、2008年には人気ヒーロー、バットマンのオムニバスのアニメ作品『バットマン ゴッサムナイト』の1編で、監督を務めました
Director Aoki has participated in numerous works as an animator since the 1980s, and in 2008, he served as the director for one of the episodes in the animated anthology Batman: Gotham Knight, featuring the popular hero Batman.
