On the 26th, in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, two men in their 70s were attacked one after another by a Japanese serow while out for a walk, sustaining minor injuries.
警察によりますと、26日午後4時ごろ、気仙沼市三ノ浜の漁港近くの市道で、近くに住む74歳の男性が1人で散歩していたところ正面から向かってきた1頭のニホンカモシカに角で右の太ももを突かれました
According to the police, around 4:00 p.m. on the 26th, a 74-year-old man who lives nearby was walking alone on a city road near the fishing port in San-nohama, Kesennuma City, when he was gored in the right thigh by the horns of a Japanese serow that approached him head-on.
さらに、カモシカは、すぐ近くを散歩していた77歳の男性にも向かっていき同じように角で右の太ももを突きました
Furthermore, the serow also charged at a 77-year-old man who was walking nearby and gored his right thigh with its horns in the same way.
2人はいずれも自力で歩いて帰宅したあと、病院で診察を受けましたが、けがの程度は軽いということです
Both of them walked home on their own and were later examined at the hospital, but their injuries are said to be minor.
カモシカは、体長1メートルほどで2人を襲ったあと現場から立ち去ったということです
The serow, which is about one meter long, reportedly left the scene after attacking two people.
警察は、パトロールを強化するとともに、カモシカを見かけても決して近づかず静かにその場を離れるよう注意を呼びかけています
The police are strengthening patrols and are urging people to quietly leave the area without approaching if they see a serow.
