Bessent, the Treasury Secretary, commented on negotiations with various countries regarding the Trump administrations tariff measures in the United States, stating, Some countries are offering very good deals, and expressed the view that agreements with many countries could be reached by September 1.

On the 27th, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent gave an interview to FOX Business Network.

In this context, Secretary Bessent mentioned that the deadline for the temporary suspension of mutual tariffs is approaching on the 9th of next month, and said, I think many countries are feeling the pressure.

On top of that, he stated that there are also countries offering very good deals, and expressed the view that agreements could be reached with 10 to 12 out of the 18 key trading partners.

Additionally, Secretary Bessent expressed the view that if agreements can be reached with these parties, negotiations with the other 20 countries that have close trade relations could also be concluded by September 1.

They have not disclosed which countries or regions are expected to reach an agreement.

Regarding negotiations with various countries, on the 26th, Secretary of Commerce Ratnick also indicated that agreements with ten trading partners are close. As negotiations with each country continue ahead of the deadline for the suspension of mutual tariffs on the 9th of next month, it is believed that the United States aims to secure agreements in a favorable manner.

President Trump: “Sending letters notifying many countries of the terms of the agreement.” At a press conference held on the 27th, U.S. President Trump expressed the view that it would be difficult to deal with all of the approximately 200 countries and regions in negotiations over tariff measures.

And, for many countries except for large ones like India, letters will be sent within the next week and a half.

He stated that it will proceed very quickly and revealed the intention to send a letter from the American side notifying the terms of the agreement and other details.

Additionally, President Trump stated that the deadline for the temporary suspension of reciprocal tariffs, which is set for July 9, could be extended, suggesting that negotiations with some countries may continue beyond that date.
