組織委員会は東京パラリンピックが無観客になったことを受け、販売済みのチケット約77万枚すべてを払い戻すことを決めました。
東京パラリンピックの開幕が24日に迫るなか、16日、政府やIPC（国際パラリンピック委員会）などによる4者協議が行われ、大会は原則的に無観客で開催することに決めました。
これを受け、組織委員会は購入済みのチケット約77万枚すべてを払い戻すと発表しました。
払い戻しについては申請などは必要なく、大会終了後に自動的に行われます。
一方で、小学校から高校までの生徒らに競技を観戦する機会を提供する学校連携観戦は自治体や学校の希望に応じて行われます。
組織委員会は実施する規模については検討中としていますが、当初の約68万枚の申し込みのうち、実施されるのは「半分を大きく下回る」との認識を示しました。
