三菱自動車は不振が続いていた中国市場から撤退することを今日の取締役会で決議しました。

三菱自動車は中国南部の湖南省で2012年から現地メーカーとの合弁で主にガソリン車の生産を続けてきました。　
Mitsubishi Motors has been producing mainly gasoline-powered vehicles since 2012 in a joint venture with a local manufacturer in southern China's Hunan Province.
しかし、中国でのEV＝電気自動車へのシフトが急速に進み、2022年度の販売台数はピーク時のおよそ5分の1に落ち込みました。

このため、中国での自動車生産を終了することを今日の取締役会で決議しました。

関係者は「現地のEVメーカーのコスト競争力には勝てず、ギブアップするしかない」と話しています。
