Underneath a distant sky, lie two stories
縦の糸はあなた　横の糸は私
The vertical thread is you, the horizontal is me
織りなす布は　いつか誰かを
The cloth woven from it will someday
暖めうるかもしれない
Will someday warm somebody up
なぜ　生きてゆくのかを
Tell me the reason for our living
迷った日の跡の　ささくれ
A remnant of the day being lost, left frayed
夢追いかけ走って
Running round after our dreams
ころんだ日の跡の　ささくれ
A remnant of the day falling over, left frayed
こんな糸が　なんになるの
What's the use of weaving this thread
心許なくて　ふるえてた風の中
Amidst the wind trembling in anxiety
縦の糸はあなた　横の糸は私
The vertical thread is you, the horizontal is me
逢うべき糸に　出逢えることを
Being able to meet one when it's supposed to do
人は　仕合わせと呼びます
We folks call it happiness
