水際対策の緩和や円安で来日した外国人の買い物や食事などの消費が盛んになっていて、新型コロナ前よりもクレジットカードの利用額が大きく増えたことが分かりました。
三井住友カードと日本総合研究所は、去年12月に来日した外国人のクレジットカード1枚あたりの利用額を調べました。
それによりますと、コロナ前の2019年12月と比べて台湾とタイからの旅行者で2倍を超え、オーストラリアは1.8倍、イギリス、アメリカが1.7倍など、地域を問わず大幅に増えたことが分かりました。
利用先では、バッグやアクセサリーなどのブランド店が1.4倍、外食が1.3倍などになりました。
一方、中国本土からの旅行者の減少で、百貨店やドラッグストアなどは半減しています。
日本総研は、久しぶりに来日した人でいわゆる「爆買い傾向が強まっている可能性がある」とみています。
