Hitachi Rail, a Hitachi Group company, will invest approximately 10 billion yen in Maryland, USA, to build a rolling stock manufacturing plant and a 730-meter test track.
現地では18日、くわ入れ式が行われ、新工場は2年後の2024年に完成する予定です。

日立レールは首都ワシントンの地下鉄向けに、最大で800両の車両を製造する予定で、契約金額は最大で2398億円になる見通しです。

日立は車両製造だけでなく、信号などの制御システムも手掛けていて、新工場の建設により北米での鉄道事業を拡大させる方針です。
