アメリカ・ニューヨークで開かれている国連総会でバイデン大統領の一般討論演説が行われ、「あすの侵略者を抑止するために立ち向かわなければならない」と訴えました。
President Biden delivered a general debate speech at the United Nations General Assembly held in New York, USA, in which he called: “We must stand up to deter future aggressors”.
バイデン大統領はウクライナ侵攻を巡り、「ロシアだけが戦争の責任を負っている。ロシアだけが戦争を直ちに終わらせる力を持っている。そして、ロシアだけが平和の道を阻んでいる」と批判しました。　
Regarding the invasion of Ukraine, he criticized “Only Russia is responsible for the war. Only Russia has the right to end the war immediately. And only Russia hinders peace.”
ウクライナ支援を続ける姿勢を打ち出したうえで、「ウクライナが切り刻まれるのを看過すれば、どの国の独立が保障されるだろうか」と問いかけ、
After declaring his stance of continued support for Ukraine, he asked: “If we let Ukraine be cut into pieces, whose independence will be guaranteed?”
「あすの侵略者を抑止するために、このむき出しの侵略に立ち向かわなければならない」と強調しました。　
He also emphasized: "We must confront this naked invasion to deter future invaders."
ロシアだけでなく、台湾問題で対立する中国も念頭にいれた発言とみられ、国連総会の場で改めて民主主義陣営の連帯強化を訴えた形です。
His comments seemed to think not only of Russia but also of China, country with which he disagrees over Taiwan, and he again called for greater unity among the democratic camp at the United Nations General Assembly.
