子宮頸がん予防のためのHPVワクチンについて厚生労働省は、がんや性感染症にも効果がある種類について、男性も無料で接種できるよう議論を始めました。

HPVワクチンは現在、「2価」と「4価」は、予防接種法上の定期接種として、小学6年から高校1年の女性は国の助成により無料で接種できます。

このうち「4価」HPVワクチンは、男性においては、肛門がんや性感染症の尖圭コンジローマを予防する効果があるとされています。

男性への接種も認められていますが、費用は全額自己負担となっていて、独自に助成制度を設けている自治体もあります。

厚労省は4日に開かれた審議会で、4価の男性への接種も「定期接種」とする提案をしました。
