カナダでは今月に入り、山火事が再び起きていて、焼失面積が過去最大となりました。

火事の影響はアメリカの東部や中西部にまで及んでいます。

カナダの当局によりますと、全土で続いている山火事の数は886件に上り、うち567件は手が付けられず、鎮火のめどすら立っていないということです。　
According to Canadian authorities, there are currently 886 wildfires burning across the country, 567 of which are uncontrollable and have no prospect of extinguishing.
カナダでは今年に入り、山火事が相次いでいて、すでに11万平方キロメートルが焼失し、過去最大だった1989年の7万3000平方キロメートルを上回りました。

また、CNNによりますと、山火事の煙がアメリカにも流れ込み、東部のニューヨークや中西部のシカゴなどに住むおよそ7000万人に対して大気汚染の警報が出されたということです。
