Electricity and gas bills will be slightly cheaper from May
Electricity bills of the 10 major companies will be about 40 to 90 yen cheaper for companies other than Kansai Electric Power and Kyushu Electric Power due to the drop in the prices of LNG and coal
Tokyo Electric Power will be 52 yen cheaper, to 8,979 yen
Gas bills will be cheaper for all four companies
Tokyo Gas will be 21 yen cheaper, to 6,004 yen
The government says it will give money from July to September to help people who pay their electricity and gas bills.
