Japan and America spoke about Yen-USD rates
アメリカのワシントンで、日本の加藤財務大臣とベッセント財務長官が会いました
In Washington, D.C., Japan's Finance Minister Kato and U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Bessent met.
They had a meeting about the Yen-USD exchange rate and more.
話し合いのあと、加藤大臣は、アメリカが、レートをいくらにするかという目標などについて話さなかったと言いました
After the meeting, Minister Kato said that the Americans did not speak on topics like how much the rate goal should be.
トランプ大統領は、円が安いことをよくないと何度も言っていました
President Trump has often remarked that it is not good for the Yen to be cheap.
Because of that, many people thought that America would probably say USD should be cheap.
But because America said no such thing, the rising Yen rate has become cheaper.
