Tokushima Prefecture’s Sweet, Delicious “Spring Carrots”
春にとれるにんじんは「春にんじん」と呼ばれています
Carrots picked in the springtime are known as “spring carrots.”
“Spring carrots” have thin skins and are sweet and delicious.
徳島県は「春にんじん」が日本で1番たくさんとれます
Tokushima’s “spring carrots” are the most harvested in Japan.
This is a very busy season for farmers.
Carrots are rinsed in water, separated by size, and packed in boxes.
農家の人は「とても甘いので、生で食べてもおいしいし、ジュースもいいと思います」と話していました
Farmers say, “Because they are so sweet, they are delicious raw but also are suitable for juices.”
