According to a statement from Mr. Bidens personal office, although the cancer has spread to the bones, effective treatment is possible, and Mr. Biden and his family are discussing treatment options with his doctors.
アメリカのメディアは18日、バイデン前大統領が前立腺がんと診断されたと相次いで伝えました。
American media reported on the 18th that former President Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
CNNテレビなどによりますと、個人事務所の発表ではバイデン氏が先週、排尿に関する症状があり診察を受けたところ16日、骨への転移をともなう前立腺がんと診断されたということです。
According to CNN TV and other sources, the personal office announced that Mr. Biden experienced urinary symptoms last week and, after a medical examination, was diagnosed with prostate cancer with bone metastasis on the 16th.
声明では、がんは進行しているものの効果的な治療が可能で「バイデン氏と家族が医師と治療の選択肢について検討している」としています。
The statement says that although the cancer is progressing, effective treatment is possible, and Mr. Biden and his family are discussing treatment options with doctors.
バイデン氏は東部ペンシルベニア州出身の82歳。
Biden is an 82-year-old from eastern Pennsylvania.
