今月12日に福島町で男性がヒグマに襲われて死亡したことを受け、北海道立総合研究機構は、現場周辺の茂みの近くや荒らされたゴミ置き場など、クマの痕跡が見つかった7か所のうち4か所で採取された体毛をDNA鑑定していました。
On the 12th of this month, after a man was killed by a brown bear in Fukushima Town, the Hokkaido Research Organization conducted DNA analysis on hair samples collected at four out of seven locations where bear traces were found, such as near bushes around the scene and disturbed garbage sites.
その結果、この体毛は、4年前に町内の70代の女性を襲って死亡させたヒグマのものと一致したということです。

また、残された足跡などの特徴から、道は当初、ヒグマは2頭いるとみられるとしていましたが、分析の結果、いずれも同じ1頭のオスの個体であることもわかったということです。
Also, based on features such as the tracks that were left behind, it was initially believed that there were two brown bears on the path, but as a result of analysis, it was discovered that both sets of tracks belonged to the same single male bear.
福島町では、18日未明にヒグマ1頭が駆除されています。

ただ、この個体が今回の現場周辺で体毛が見つかったヒグマと同一かどうかは、わかっていないということです。

北海道立総合研究機構は、駆除されたヒグマのDNA鑑定を進めていて、19日以降、結果が判明するとしています。
The Hokkaido Research Organization is conducting DNA analysis on the culled brown bears, and says the results will be available after the 19th.
福島町は警戒を続けていて、三岳地区と月崎地区に、クマが山から市街地に下りてくるのを防ぐための電気柵の設置も進めているほか、警察もパトカーでの巡回を続けることにしています。
