According to the announcement, the governments subsidies for electricity and gas bills, which will be implemented for three months starting from July as a measure against rising prices, will be increased for August, when the heat is expected to be most severe. Subsidies for electricity and gas began with usage from January two years ago, when energy prices soared due to Russias invasion of Ukraine. They have continued intermittently since then, and including this time, a total budget of over 4.5 trillion yen has been allocated.
